Affordable Housing To Replace Santa Monica Gas Station
Non-profit developer Community Corp. of Santa Monica could replace a gas station on Lincoln Boulevard with affordable housing, according to materials presented to the Santa Monica Architectural Review Board.
The property, located at 2120 Lincoln Boulevard, is slated for the construction of a four-story building featuring 37 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments atop 459 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 29 vehicles. Residents would be served by several on-site open spaces, including a T-shaped central courtyard and a community room.
The proposed development, called Pacific Link for its location at the intersection of Lincoln and Pacific Street, is being designed by Tighe Architecture. The low-rise structure would be organized around an internal courtyard, with a “sculptural exterior,” of cement, plaster, and metal panels.
A staff report to the Architectural Review Board recommends that the Pacific Link project should be approved.
